As a Medical Assessment unit, EAU3 receives patients from A&E, GPs, and clinics.
EAU3 has capacity for 30 Ambulatory patients and comprises of both recliner and high back chairs with no trolleys or beds on the unit.
On arrival patients will be shown to the waiting area, and the nursing team will complete observations and collect some routine blood tests. Patients will then be seen by the medical team who will advise on the plan for care.
Patients will be moved to a ward after medical review if there is a decision to admit.
