My current role
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I started working from home and my role changed to supporting patients, relatives and staff on the telephone.
This shift of role has since developed further and I now primarily work with the bereavement care follow-up service, making the initial telephone call to families who have recently suffered the death of a loved one in the hospital and wish to speak further with the clinicians who were involved.
Previous history
In September 2000 I moved into full time chaplaincy, as chaplain at Arthur Rank hospice, where I spent twelve-and-a-half very happy and fulfilling years.
From February 2013, on my 'retirement', I came to work with the chaplaincy team at Addenbrooke's two-days-a-week, helping support the team in the hospital, as needed.
