Reverend Anthony Gill

Lead chaplain

Reverend Gill Anthony

Previous history

I joined the CUH Chaplaincy in October 2017, having previously worked for a National Charity developing their strategy and leading the modernisation of the charity. Amidst leading the programme of events, I also oversaw the pastoral care and led retreats for prison chaplains.

Prior to training for Ministry, I worked within pharmaceuticals in a business support role.

After training for Ministry at Spurgeon's college and acquiring a Bachelor of Divinity Hons, I served as Minister of a Church for eight years. Here I developed my interest in spiritual formation and discipleship.

Since joining the Chaplaincy, I have led the implementation of a Chaplaincy role within Cancer, Chaplaincy delivery at Royal Papworth Hospital and also led the enhanced delivery of Chaplaincy within Critical Care.

I became Lead Chaplain in September 2021 and I am passionate about delivering integrated Chaplaincy that supports patients, family and staff.

Personal interests

When time allows, I enjoy photography using vintage lenses, countryside walks and reading as much as I can.
