My current role
I have been a consultant radiologist in the Cambridge Breast Unit since January 2010 in the symptomatic and screening service, specialising in breast imaging as part of my interest in women’s imaging. In addition I also specialise in general ultrasound and oncology biopsies.
I am the clinical lead for ultrasound at CUH and I am involved with a number of research projects in breast imaging at a local and national level where I have published many peer review articles.
I lecture nationally and internationally and have written book chapters and education modules for the Royal College of Radiologists. I also review research papers for peer review journals to potentially be accepted for publication.
I am actively involved with teaching which included radiologists in training, sonographers and medical students and I am also involved in clinical audit to improve service delivery and standards within the breast unit and throughout the hospital.
Previous history
I qualified in 1997 from Leicester University Medical School and worked in Leicester, Liverpool and Brisbane, Australia, before coming to Cambridge to finish training in Diagnostic Radiology.
I was appointed as a consultant radiologist in January 2010. From 2014 to 2020, I was clinical lead for the Cambridge Breast Unit and director of breast screening from 2014 to 2019.
Personal interests
I enjoy my garden which has many animals including dogs, guinea pigs and tortoises. I keep fit by running and ballet lessons.
