My current role
My role at the Emmeline Centre for Hearing Implants involves working closely with the Audiologist to assess a patient's candidacy for a cochlear implant, and to prepare them for what to expect following activation of an implant. I also provide rehabilitation input post implantation to help patients learn to adapt to a new way of listening to speech, environmental sounds, music and the telephone.
Previous history
Before joining the Emmeline Centre in 2016 my previous employment was as a Speech and Language Therapist on acute hospital wards, mainly working with adults with neurological conditions on swallow and communication impairments.
