Role
James is a Cambridgeshire GP and a partner at Granta Medical Practices, where he was instrumental in its creation and growth to become one of the largest single practices in the East of England with over 58,000 registered patients.
From 2019 to 2023, James was co-chair of the Cambridgeshire South Care Partnership, the umbrella body bringing together all agencies from within the health, local authority and voluntary sectors with the intention of providing better and more integrated services for local residents.
From 2018 to 2022, he served as a Board Member for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Sustainability and Transformation Partnership.
James qualified in medicine from the University of Oxford in 1990, after pre-clinical studies at the University of Cambridge. He also has a degree in law.
He is an elected member of the Cambridge Local Medical Committee, has been a senior clinical tutor for the University of Cambridge and is a past president of the Cambridge Medical Society.
