My current role
I am the specialty lead in Medical Haematology at CUH and Royal Papworth Hospital.
I specialise in Haematology, Haemoglobinopathy (Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassaemia), Thrombosis Haemostasis, Immune Haematology, Transfusion and Point-of-care testing.
I am the principal investigator in the STAND trial (Sickle Cell Disease), AG348-C-006, AG348-C-007 and AG348-C-011 trials
Previous history
I qualified at the university of Ulm, Germany.
I previously held the Baxter/Royal College of Pathologists Research Fellowship in Coagulation in 2007/8 and I have been appointed at CUH and Royal Papworth Hospital as a haematology consultant since 2009.
I was also the training programme director for haematology in the East of England between 2014 and 2018.

Personal interests
I enjoy teaching students and have a special interest in information technology. I am a certified physician builder on the Epic System.
