I am a consultant physician in acute/general internal medicine and clinical pharmacology and therapeutics at Cambridge University Hospitals.

My current role

Alongside my role at CUH, I am also an Affiliated Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and junior pro-proctor, University of Cambridge. My clinical and research interests are in cardiovascular medicine and toxicology.

As well as clinical responsibilities. I am also the senior medical advisor to the British National Formulary and chair of its Joint Formulary Committee.

In addition I am a member of the Pharmacovigilance Expert Advisory Group for the Commission on Human Medicines.

Previous history

I spent my early years as a doctor living and working in and around London. I became a consultant at CUH in September 2008 and soon afterwards became the first patient safety and governance lead for the old Division of Medicine. I was also a Governor of CUH from 2015-18.

  • Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London.

Personal interests

I enjoy cricket and studying comparative theology in my spare time.
