Dr Edward Banham-Hall

Consultant Physician

I am a consultant physician at Addenbrooke's Hospital who holds a PhD from Cambridge University having successfully defended my thesis on the subject of the role of the p110delta isoform of PI3 kinase in immune responses to Streptococcus pneumoniae.

My current role

I now work as a Principal Investigator for several early phase clinical trials, including a clinical trial investigating a possible novel treatment for patients with APDS. I am seconded to GSK for part of this time, where I undertake experimental medicine studies in healthy volunteers and patients.

Previous history

During my research I took a leading role in the discovery of a novel cause of Primary Immunodeficiency called Activated PI3kinase Delta Syndrome, or APDS.

Personal interests

In my spare time I work on projects that combine digital breakthroughs with clinical and biological opportunities. My latest project in this respect is the technical development of an educational website for postgraduate medical training, Clinical Skills Pro.
