My current role
Within my role in general medicine and nephrology, I work with a team that cares for patients with medical problems throughout their stay in hospital. In addition, I run general nephrology and glomerulonephritis clinics as well as haemodialysis vascular access lists.
Previous History
I grew up in Japan, the US and UK. As an undergraduate I studied history of art and architecture at Brown University in the US before returning to the UK to study medicine in London. After qualifying, I did the majority of my training in the East of England where I specialised in general medicine and nephrology. I completed a PhD and was NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Nephrology in Cambridge before being appointed consultant at Addenbrooke's in 2011.
