We offer specialist advice and support both on symptom control and the total care of patients with any life-limiting illness. The care we provide is patient centred, whilst understanding and caring for the needs of family / carers and other healthcare professionals.
We are an advisory service, which works in conjunction with the referring team but does not take over the patient's care completely. We see patients from any directorate and offer both in-patient and out-patient care.
We work in conjunction with the patient's medical team and can be involved at any stage in the patient's illness from the time of diagnosis onwards. Our involvement is targeted at patient and family centred care, concentrating on working with the patient to achieve the very best quality of life and to support them and their family.
