The team provides specialist support for the following services:

In addition, the ophthalmic technicians provides support for the whole of ophthalmology, by carrying out diagnostic testing.
Orthoptists specialise in assessing vision development and eye movements in infants, children and patients with additional needs (such as autism). Orthoptists also assess adults with eye movement abnormalities.
Orthoptists can diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, such as:
- Squint (strabismus)
- Lazy eye (amblyopia)
- Double vision (diplopia)
- Focussing problems (Convergence and accommodation insufficiency)
