Cambridge Motor Neurone Disease Care Centre

Neurology

The Cambridge MND Care Centre helps support and coordinate the multidisciplinary care of people with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

We are one of a network of Care Centres across England and Wales funded in collaboration with the MND Association and the NHS.

We run a weekly multidisciplinary clinic located at the Arthur Rank Hospice (opens in a new tab) and work closely with other designated MND services across the East of England. In addition to face to face appointments, we are also able to offer telephone and video review for people who are unable to attend the clinic in person.

The MND Care Coordinator at the Care Centre serves as a point of contact for people with MND and can help assess a person’s individual needs and engage the appropriate team or service that is best placed to help.

The Cambridge MND Care Centre also has close links with the Respiratory Support and Sleep Centre (opens in a new tab) at the Royal Papworth Hospital, where people are assessed and supported with any problems with breathing as appropriate. If required, patients are also referred to the nutritional multidisciplinary team at Addenbrooke’s Hospital for consideration of strategies to maintain nutritional input.
