We run 3 clinics every week for children and young people with asthma. In addition, we also have a multidisciplinary team (MDT) complex asthma clinic on a Tuesday afternoon where we see children with asthma that is difficult to control or requiring a lot of treatment.
Children are referred by their local paediatrician for an MDT review. There are also 4 asthma transition clinics per year, where the adult asthma lead doctor and nurse join us; this clinic is for young people with asthma that will require care within the adult asthma network, particularly those on omalizumab and Mepolizumab injections.
