Paediatric Outpatients consists of clinic 6, the child development centre and the Weston centre. It provides care to patients who do not require admission to hospital. We see patients from numerous specialities within paediatrics.
Before your appointment
We are no longer triage calling face to face appointments. If you or your child are symptomatic, please call Clinic 6 and rearrange your appointment.
Shielding
If your child is shielding, please call to let us know before their appointment, or make sure to mention it when we call you. This will help us to arrange clinics in a way that keeps everyone as safe as possible.
Before your visit
Before your visit, we recommend you watch this video provided by Great Ormand Street Hospital (opens in a new tab) to hear about the four main things that you can do to stop the virus spreading when you come to the hospital. This includes wearing a mask while you are in the hospital, in line with national guidance.
During the appointment
Only one parent / carer can bring their child to the appointment. Unfortunately, no siblings can attend at the moment. If you have other children, please arrange for another adult to look after them – if this is going to be difficult, please tell us as soon as possible.
Please bring snacks and drinks with you to the appointment as our shops and food outlets might be closed.
To reduce infection risk, we have removed toys and games from the department, so please remember to bring something to keep your child occupied in the waiting area.
We do our best to run clinics on time.
We appreciate your understanding with any delays while we work to get clinics running safely and smoothly.
After your appointment
To minimise your time spent in the hospital, reduce the risk of virus spreading and maintain appropriate social distancing, we would urge you and your child to leave the clinical areas and hospital premises promptly once your clinical appointment or investigation has been completed for the day.
