Our cancer navigators are here to help you if you have cancer. They are part of the CUH Cancer Support Service. If you get care and treatment from us, you can use their service.
Navigators can answer your questions and help you find local support services. They can also help your doctor or carer. They are with you through all your treatment and can give emotional support. They can also help you find support from charities and local services.
They are part of a team that takes care of you and makes sure everything works well together.
The cancer navigators work with a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) and can help with any questions you have. Each navigator knows about a specific type of cancer. They will listen to you, find out what needs to be done, and make sure everything goes well. They work with the CNS teams, so if you have questions about your treatment or side effects, they can get answers from your clinical team.
Finding out what's important to you
Exploring your needs with you
Our Navigators use a brief questionnaire to help pinpoint what is most important to you. We recognise this will change and want to ensure you have the right information at the right time. The questionnaire is also known as a Holistic Needs Assessment. You will be offered a conversation around your needs and given a care plan following this, documenting information and actions. If you haven’t been offered an assessment and would like one, please contact us and we would be happy to arrange.
We can see you at home or at the hospital
Pop in and see us at the information and support pod in oncology outpatients.

Prefer a video or phone call at home?
We would be happy to arrange this at a time that's convenient to you.
