NIHR Cambridge clinical research facility

The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Cambridge clinical research facility provides dedicated clinical research facilities for the conduct of ethically approved experimental medicine studies in patients and healthy volunteers of all ages.

Clinical engineering innovation

Clinical Engineering Innovation (CEI) aims to identify novel, unmet clinical needs and translate these into innovative medical technologies and processes to benefit patients, staff and the wider health economy. Our in-house team contains both design engineers and clinical scientists providing experience across a large variety of areas. We have detailed knowledge of the regulatory requirements and funding applications to allow innovative products and ideas to be bought into patient care.

The Core Biochemical Assay Laboratory (CBAL) offers a high quality cost-effective analytical service. Since its inception in 2008 the laboratory has worked closely with many research groups across the Cambridge Biomedical campus and helped commercial companies develop and evaluate their novel assays.
