Hannah, a physiotherapist in the musculoskeletal team, tells us about her role at CUH
What’s your role in our organisation?
I am a Physiotherapist in the Musculoskeletal Team in the Outpatients Department.
Tell us a bit about your CUH journey – when did you join, what positions have you held here?
I graduated in the summer of 2016 and joined the trust in September that year as a band 5 Physiotherapist. I began as a rotational band 5 which allowed me to explore the many different specialities of Physiotherapy across the hospital.
In 2018 I started my band 6 role in Musculosketal Outpatients and continue to enjoy working in this team.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy the great variety of my role in Physiotherapy. Whilst I have specialised in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, I continue to rotate between different specialties within the area such as orthopaedics, paediatrics and pain. Day to day, roles can vary also.
I enjoy one-to-one rehabilitation sessions but also enjoy being involved with a variety of many different classes in our gym and getting in the pool for hydrotherapy sessions.
Whatever our patients may have been through, Physiotherapy can help them to improve their quality of life. That is what makes our role so special.
What advice would you give to someone who is starting their AHP career journey?
Enjoy it! Soak up all the experience you can get. Ask all of the questions! It can be hard work, but so worth it in the end!
