March's You Made a Difference team award goes to a remarkable, dedicated and inspiring team - the transfer practitioners for adult critical care.
The transfer practitioner team for adult critical care was set up in December 2021, with different staff from across the region coming together to form a regional critical care transfer service. Since then, the team has pulled together in such a unique way in such a small space of time.
Earlier this year, CUH was caring for a patient with Lassa fever. With clear purpose and direction, the team worked tirelessly, carefully transferring other patients, allowing us to close beds whilst staff were isolating.
The team arrived with the utmost professionalism and smiles and without this team, the last few weeks would have been incredibly hard.
The winning nomination said of the team:
“This team has worked tirelessly to build and launch the most amazing service. This service is designed to transport critically ill patients across the East of England region. The staff have all been trained to a very high standard from an intensive care unit or anaesthetic background.”
The dedication and passion these staff members have towards patient safety, improving care, supporting staff and caring for each other is so inspiring.
“They are a remarkable bunch of people that want to provide their best care and the best outcomes for all patients.”
