Extracts from nominations from several colleagues for Per said:
“Mr Hall is an esteemed colleague in our department - a great surgeon, leader and teacher.
As our clinical lead until recent years, he has provided leadership, guidance and direction, always going above and beyond for the patients and always kind, supportive and inspirational.
“Mr Hall was one of the founding members of our regional Cleft Lip and Palate Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), Cleft Net East, and played a significant role in its creation, as well as contributing significantly to the work in the Plastic Surgery Department.
“Mr Hall’s enthusiasm for work shines through in his teaching where he shares his wisdom and passion for work with the students, nurses, allied healthcare professionals and surgeons. He is also committed and dedicated to training new staff.
“Mr Hall is excellent at communicating with colleagues which makes working with him not only a pleasure but also easy and effective.
We have very grateful patients graduating from his care as an adult, having had a full course of treatment from when they were babies.
“Mr Hall is due to retire in November 2023 after 28 years with the Cleft Service. It will be the end of an era for cleft care in the East of England and Mr Hall’s retirement will have a great impact on the service in terms of expertise and pastoral care.”
Yasmin began her staff nurse role on neurosciences critical care unit (NCCU) in January 2022. She cares for critically ill patients who have sustained a traumatic brain injury as a trauma patient, or a bleed on the brain due to aneurysms or malformations.
Yasmin delivers a very high standard of care to all patient groups.
She is very loyal and diligent and strives to deliver kind, safe and excellent care.
Always eager to learn, Yasmin is a great role model to all her colleagues. She is also great at teaching and working with new starters and students.
Extracts from Yasmin’s nomination, submitted by a colleague, said:
“Yasmin helped to provide valuable support to a non-English speaking family during an incredibly distressing and confusing time for them.
“Due to the absence of a translator, Yasmin attended a complicated family meeting and helped translate for a large family, some of whom spoke no English.
Yasmin did an outstanding job. Without her input the meeting would not have delivered the necessary outcome and, from there, compassionate care for the patient.
“Yasmin also offered to come in over the weekend, when she was not scheduled to work, to help with further translation if necessary.
“Without Yasmin’s input, we would not have been able to provide the care this patient needed.”
