Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, visited CUH and met staff today as part of the launch of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan.

Coming ahead of the health service’s 75th anniversary, the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan sets out how the NHS will address existing vacancies and meet the challenges of a growing and ageing population by recruiting and retaining hundreds of thousands more staff over 15 years and working in new ways.

The Prime Minister met staff from across CUH as part of the visit – they shared their experience of working here and the different training and career paths that they’ve taken.
He also watched a training session involving students from ARU and a registered nursing associate.

- Will Thompson, trainee advanced critical care pratictioner
