CT Scanning! Pushing the boundaries
We are excited to announce an in-person study day aimed at CT Radiographers, Radiographers with an interest in CT scanning, and Student Radiographers.
The study day will cover aspects including AI in imaging, Radiographer led Cardiac CT services, CT Forensic Imaging, developing CT user pathways, and much more.

Educational aims
Whether you are an experienced CT Radiographer or new to the world of CT Scanning, this study day will guide you through developments in CT from both a technical and practical aspect through to how it is used to improve patient pathways.
There will also be a networking/social event at the end of the day, where attendees can gain insight into how other trusts work, and some CT application specialists will also be in attendance.
This course provides 5 CPD credits in accordance with the CPD Scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists.

- Dr Tilak Das

Dr Tilak Das is a diagnostic Neuroradiologist in Cambridge, having done Neuroradiology fellowships in Cambridge and Toronto. He is an enthusiastic teacher and part of the faculty for BSNR Trainee Symposia and the BSNR Teaching and Education Subcommittee. He has a PhD in developmental neuroscience and is involved in research projects in brain and H&N imaging that have developed from clinical interests. Within his department, he has been lead for coordinating successful QSI accreditation and is currently clinical audit and information governance lead. He has a keen interest in Clinical Informatics and recently completed a Master’s degree in Healthcare Data.
- Helena O’Sullivan

Helena is a senior CT Radiographer and the CT Post Mortem/Forensic Lead Radiographer at Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge. She qualified from the University of Leeds in 2014, and has gained experience in both the plain film and CT imaging of both live and deceased patients. She completed her PgC in Forensic Radiography in 2022, and is currently undertaking her PgD in Forensic Radiography from Teesside University. She is a member of the IAFR and is a member of the UK DVI imaging group. Aside from her NHS work, she gives ad-hoc lectures in Forensic Radiography to both under/post graduate Radiography students at the University of Suffolk.
- Lauren England

Lauren is a senior CT Radiographer specialising in Forensic and Post-Mortem Radiography. She currently splits her time between Addenbrookes Hospital, as the deputy lead Post Mortem CT/Forensic CT Radiographer, and East London Forensic Centre as Support Radiographer. She qualified in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Portsmouth in 2016, and is experienced in plain film and CT imaging of both living and deceased patients. She is currently undertaking her MSc in Forensic Radiography with Teesside University and is a member of the International Association of Forensic Radiographers. Within her NHS role, she teaches undergraduate and pre-registration students and apprentices in CT and Forensic and Post-mortem imaging within the department.
- Daniel Furness
Daniel is currently the Lead Radiographer for Cardiac CT at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH). He qualified from the University of Suffolk (UoS) with a BSc in Diagnostic Radiography in 2015. Beginning his career at CUH he gained extensive experience in both projection radiography and Computed tomography (CT) before travelling to Australia. In Australia he continued to expand his knowledge undertaking oncology PET CT imaging. Upon returning to the UK Daniel was successful in returning to CUH as a lead CT Radiographer and undertook his PGcert in CT in 2021. He successfully implemented a Radiographer-led CTCA service at CUH in 2023. Daniel is an honorary lecturer for the UoS delivering talks on cardiac CT at both undergraduate and post graduate level.
- Benjamin Neil

Since 1998, Benjamin Neil has specialised in human osteology, contributing his expertise to archaeological projects both nationally and internationally. In 2016, he was appointed Specialist in Osteoarchaeology at the Cambridge Archaeological Unit, where he examines human remains and funerary practices from the Neolithic to Medieval periods in the East Anglian region. Benjamin’s approach is notably multi- and transdisciplinary. He integrates his skills as a soft tissue therapist with traditional osteological methods, using advanced scientific techniques—such as imaging to deepen contextual understanding of human remains.
- Dr Nadeem Shaida

Dr Shaida is an established Consultant Interventional Radiologist based in Cambridge. After graduating from the University of London in 2000, he trained in radiology on the Cambridge training scheme gaining his Certificate of Completion of Training in Radiology with subspecialist accreditation in Interventional Radiology in 2013. He was appointed as a Consultant at Addenbrooke's Hospital in 2014 where he maintains a busy NHS practice. He has published and presented extensively at national and international meetings. In 2019 he was awarded Fellowship of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
- Dr Daniel Scoffings

Dr Scoffings is a consultant Neuroradiologist specialising in imaging of the brain and spine in adults and children. He has a subspecialist interest in head and neck imaging. He provides neuroradiology support to multidisciplinary team meetings for head and neck cancer, skull base, pituitary, spine, epilepsy and neurofibromatosis type 2.
He has a particular interest in spontaneous intracranial hypotension and spinal CSF leaks. He graduated from King's College London in 1998, winning the University Medal for MBBS. He undertook clinical radiology training in Leeds, and joined Addenbrooke's in 2005 as a fellow in neuroradiology before being appointed as a consultant in 2008.
- Jake Beckford
Jake is the lead Reporting Radiographer for chest and abdominal radiographs at Addenbrookes in Cambridge. He has been in this position since 2020, when qualifying as a Reporting Radiographer. He holds an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice (Radiographer Reporting) and a PGDip in healthcare leadership. He was one of the leads implementing the National Optimal Lung Cancer Pathway (NOLCP) at CUH. Currently holds the position of Professional lead for Reporting Radiographers in the Eastern Diagnostic Imaging Network (EDIN). Has performed a variety of roles within Radiology including area lead and CT.
- Dr Ibtisan Hasan

Transport
Parking on site is not advised and is expensive. If arriving by car, please park at one of the following park and ride centres surrounding Cambridge:

- Madingley Road Park and Ride
- Trumpington Park and Ride
From these sites there are regular bus links to Addenbrooke's Hospital.
If arriving by train, Cambridge Railway station is closest to the hospital. On arrival, there are many buses outside the station entrance which can bring you to the Addenbrooke's Hospital site.
