There are many ways to get to our hospitals.
Park and ride
Our hospitals have direct and frequent links to many Cambridgeshire Park and Ride sites.
- Plan your journey: Use the Park and Ride website (opens in a new tab) to check routes and times.
- Babraham Park and Ride: Some parking spaces are unavailable due to a renewable energy project. Extra spaces are available at Trumpington Park and Ride, which connects to the hospital via the Busway or a shared cycle/pedestrian path.
Bus
Addenbrooke’s Hospital has a bus station at the Hills Road entrance. Most buses pick up and drop off here. There are also stops across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

- Bus stop changes: Due to construction, some bus stops may have moved. Check site maps for updates.
Cambridgeshire Guided Busway
- Routes A and B: Travel from Trumpington Park and Ride to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC), the railway station, the city centre, and beyond.
- Stops include:
- Francis Crick Avenue (Busway A and B) (opens in a new tab) (10-minute walk to main reception)
- Dame Mary Archer Way (Busway A and B) (opens in a new tab) (5-minute walk to main reception or 1 minute to the Rosie Hospital)
- Outpatients (Busway A and B) (opens in a new tab) (2-minute walk to main reception)
- Puddicombe Way (Busway A and B) (opens in a new tab) (6-minute walk to main reception)
- Royal Papworth Hospital (Busway A and B) (opens in a new tab) (6-minute walk to main reception)
Universal bus service
- Runs between Eddington, Cambridge City Centre, and Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
- Stops include:

- Dame Mary Archer Way (opens in a new tab)(10-minute walk to main reception)
- Outpatients bus stop (opens in a new tab) (2-minute walk to main reception)

A free electric shuttle bus runs around the hospital site, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00. It stops at:
- Car Park 1
- Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre
- Royal Papworth Hospital
- Car Park 2
- Rosie Hospital, Breast Unit, and CDC
- N and R Wards
- Rehab Block MRIS lay-by
- Oncology
- Main Outpatients entrance

Train
- Walking: Cambridge Rail Station is about a 30-minute walk from the hospital.
- Bus: Buses from the station take about 10 minutes. Use Traveline (opens in a new tab) to plan your journey.
Car
- The hospital is signposted across Cambridge.
- If driving from outside the city, access the site via Addenbrooke’s Road from Junction 11 on the M11.
- Use Google Maps (opens in a new tab) for directions.
- Parking: Patients and visitors can park in:

- Car Park 2 (opens in a new tab)
- Both car parks use a pay-on-exit system.

Cycling
- Dedicated cycle lanes are available on Hills Road, Long Road, Trumpington Road, and Addenbrooke’s Road.

- Use Cambridge CycleStreets (opens in a new tab) to plan your journey.
- Cycle parking is available at key hospital entrances.
- A shared-use path runs alongside the guided busway for those cycling from the railway station.
Walking
- From the city centre: Walking takes about an hour.
- From Cambridge Rail Station: A shared-use path along the guided busway makes for a pleasant 30-minute walk.
- From Park and Ride sites:
- Babraham Park and Ride is about 2 km south of the hospital. Many people walk or take the bus.
- Trumpington Park and Ride is under 3 km from the hospital. Some people prefer the scenic walk.
