Shadi is a speciality trainee and clinical research fellow in oral and maxillo-facial surgery.
His research is based at the Early Cancer Institute, University of Cambridge, and is focused on head and neck cancer with a particular interest in the early detection and prevention of oral cancer. He is also a Bye-Fellow at Wolfson College where he has been supervising head and neck anatomy in addition to teaching clinical students at Cambridge University Hospitals.
With Cambridge Global Health Partnerships, he founded FaceForward, which aims to address the surgical needs of the refugee population in Jordan.
He is filmed treating Freddie, who needs stiches to his lip following a nasty sports accident and Terry who has an infection around his eye.
In his spare time Shadi likes to spend time with his young family and friends, follow the Arsenal, “build stuff” and cook. He combined his last two hobbies when he built a wood-fired oven in his garden and now claims to make the best pizza in Cambridge.
